The official icon presented to the Kwethluk parish during the canonization. If you’d like to read more about it please see our blog post During the canonization services in Kwethluk Alaska, this special icon was presented to the parish by His Grace, Archbishop Alexei of Sitka and Alaska. What makes this icon especially moving is its inscription: it bears words in both traditional Yup’ik and English, beautifully reflecting Matushka Olga’s identity as a true mother of her people and a bridge of love between cultures. In the icon, she is shown holding a great log cathedral—a vision of faith and hope. By the blessing of His Grace, plans are already underway for such a cathedral to be built in Kwethluk, standing as a lasting witness to Orthodoxy’s deep roots in Alaska and to Matushka Olga’s gentle intercession. Beautiful mounted on 5/8″ pressed wood. Medium size icon measures: 5in x 8in
