Description Machine Seal for Prosphora The Machine Seal for Prosphora is made of poplar wood and faithfully follows authentic Orthodox symbolism. The seal features a square at its center engraved with the words “Jesus Christ Conquers” (IC XC NIKA). Seal for Prosphora of Mount Athos – What Does It Symbolize? This section is called the “Lamb,” and the priest cuts it in the shape of a cube from the prosphora during the Proskomede. This piece is placed on the Holy Diskos and is later transformed into the Body of Christ. On the left, there is a triangular section containing the letters Μ and Θ (Mother of God), symbolizing the Virgin Mary. On the right, there is a square section enclosing nine triangles. These represent the nine orders of Angels and Saints.
