Saint Charalambos (10 February) Saint Charalambos was a priest in Magnesia, Asia Minor. According to historical evidence, he was arrested by the prefect Lucian, during the period of persecution of Christians (around 198 AD), unleashed by the emperor Septimius Severus. He was subjected to cruel tortures, some of which were subjected to by Lucian himself, because he could not persuade him to deny his faith. He was eventually beheaded at the age of 113.
