Saint Marina, whose memory is commemorated on July 17, was born in Antioch, Pisidia, and at the age of 15 confessed to her father that she was a Christian. He was shocked and deleted her as his daughter. Later she was arrested by the prefect of the area who, seeing her beauty, asked her to refuse Christ in order to make her his wife. The Saint, who was famous for her faith, refused, and then the prefect subjected her to cruel torture. At first, he tore them through the flesh, but the wounds closed on their own.
