Description A handmade porcelain with the representation of Holy Mary Pregnant, crafted entirely by hand. Holy Mary Pregnant is one of the rarest iconographic subjects, although it has been known in Byzantine art since the 11th century. At that time, the model of Panagia Vlachernitissa prevailed in Byzantine hagiography. This icon depicts Jesus on a medal on the chest of the Virgin Mary to show the Divine Word in her belly. The depiction of Panagia Pregnant in an icon is rare. Although our Church attaches great importance to motherhood through its feasts (celebration of the arrest of Saint Anna and Timios Prodromos, the birthday of the Virgin Mary and John the Baptist) and despite its thematic association with the Akathistos Hymn, Panagia Pregnant Woman, as a model, is not particularly widespread in the art of hagiography. The icon depicts the Virgin Mary in a state of pregnancy. Panagia Pregnant is the protector of childless couples and pregnant women. Our Church honors this nickname of the Virgin Mary on September 25, exactly six months after the Annunciation and three months before Christmas.Prayer for pregnant women to the Virgin Mary Pregnant Pregnant Despina, Maria Theotoke, The syllable in the stomach of all the King I pray for the gastric possession And grant me wisdom and God’s fear Your grace and mercy and help, Until I easily reach labor on time I was thankful to God my child And this after the birth of a claim brings me In the temple and afterwards well raised A God praise on the lips of the heart This is what honor and glory must be for ever Amen
